Obituary of Eliseo Herman "Lee" Rodriguez

Eliseo (Lee) Rodriguez, 78, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Medicalodge in Coffeyville. Lee was born on June 14, 1937 to Eulogio and Cleofas (Sandaval) Rodriguez in Independence, Kansas. He grew up in Coffeyville where he received his high school education at Field Kindley Memorial High School. On August 2, 1969 he married the love of his life, Marsha Swafford in Independence, Kansas. The couple made Coffeyville their home. Lee was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus (3rd degree). He enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, collecting Elvis memorabilia and listening to Elvis, playing his guitar and singing. Surviving to honor his memory is his loving wife, Marsha of Coffeyville; daughters, Mardella (Michael) Swigart of Seligman, Missouri, Elisia Rodriguez of Parsons, Kansas, Laura (Patrick) McWhirt of Springfield, Missouri, Judith (David) Mobley of Lenior City, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sisters, Julia Jaimez and Louise Jaimez both of Coffeyville, Kansas, Isabel Layman of Wichita, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, three sisters, one brother, a granddaughter and a grandson. A Rosary Service will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow with Father Chad Arnold officiating. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home to sign the guest register. Family will greet friends Monday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the family to help defray the cost of funeral expense; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
