Obituary of Mary Claudine Cody-Clark

Mary Claudine Cody Clark, a direct descendent of Colonel William Fredrick Cody (Buffalo Bill Cody) was born in Havana, Kansas on February 26, 1920, to Earl S. and Mabel (Caswell) Cody. Claudine passed away peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2016, in Denton, Texas at The Vintage Health Care Center where she resided. Claudine was married to Leonard Wesley Clark on October 27, 1939 in Kimberly, Twin Falls County, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl S. Cody and Mabel (Caswell) Cody Bellmyer and her beloved husband, Leonard Wesley Clark. Claudine loved her family and friends with an unconditional love. She was a woman with many hobbies. She loved riding motorcycles, fishing, quilting, ceramics, needlework, music and dancing. The only job she held outside the home was as a "Rosie the Riveter" at the California Naval Base during World War II. She lived in Tyro, Kansas most of her childhood and adult life, where she played piano at the Tyro Christian Church as a girl. Heaven rejoiced when she was Baptized in the name of Jesus Christ on October 23, 2011 at the Tyro Christian Church. She is survived by her cousins, Pitty Dhooge and husband Marvin; nieces and nephews by marriage are Delpha Yeats, Donna Martin, Jim McGinnis, Clark Munkers and wife Donna, Denny McGinnis and wife Teresa, and Patrick Martin and wife Karen, and many other family members. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2015 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, with Evangelist David Bycroft with the Tyro Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville.
