Marjorie Leola (Baldwin) Gaston at the age of 83 years, departed this life for her heavenly home. Marjorie was born July 17, 1932, to Chesney W. Baldwin and Opal A. (Grice) Baldwin, on a farm near Harmon, Oklahoma. Marjorie attended country school through 8th grade and then went to high school in Arnett, Oklahoma, graduating in 1930. She went to work for Southwestern Bell until 1954. Marjorie was united in marriage to Alvin Donald Gaston on December 3rd, 1954, and moved to Enid, Oklahoma. To this marriage three children were brought into this world, Beverly K. Freeman, Jerry D. Gaston & late son Terry Jo Gaston. Those left to mourn this passing are her husband Alvin Gaston of the home, sister Dorene Cox of Vici, Ok, her son Jerry Gaston & wife Beverly of Tyro, Ks, Daughter Beverly K. Freeman & husband Mike of Shawnee, Ok, three wonderful grandchildren, Jeremy Gaston & wife Amber of Independence, Ks, Justin Gaston & wife Megan & two wonderful great-grandsons of Caney, Ks, & Brooke Gaston & fiancé Clinton McClure of Caney, Ks, as well as many other family members, nieces, nephews, friends, and church members. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and one son, Terry Jo Gaston. Marjorie was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and home maker. She was a housewife who never wavered from her responsibilities of life. She devoted most of her time from 1951-present caring for her family and never uttering a word of displeasure. Marjorie was loved by all those who knew her. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the Tyro Christian Church in Tyro with David Bycroft officiating. Burial will be in Fawn Creek Cemetery northeast of Tyro. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
