Obituary of Robert L. George

Robert L. "Bob" George, 69, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away at CRMC Sunday, March 20, 2016. Bob was born April 16, 1946 to LeRoy George, Jr. and Pauline (Beair) George in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He grew up in the rural South Coffeyville area graduating from Lenapah High School in 1964. He married Sharilyn Kuehn. They had two sons, Eric and Bradley and one daughter, Brenda. They later divorced. In October 1995, he married Patricia Pollett in Colorado. He was a devout Christian who loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was an active member of the Tyro Christian Church. He served in the National Guard and was employed for 38 years as a pipefitter at Farmland Industries. He was also a member of the South Coffeyville Lions Club and the Pipefitters Union. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and woodworking. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna Mitchell. Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia of the home, two sons, CDR Eric George, USN (Ret.) and wife Pamela of Wann, Oklahoma, Dr. Bradley Kuehn of Kissimmee, Florida, one daughter Brenda Taylor and husband Justin of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, and step-sons, William Toner and Lance Toner both of Coffeyville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 24, at 10:00 a.m. at the Tyro Christian Church with Evangelist David Bycroft and Nathan Boldt officiating. Burial will follow at Robbins Cemetery, west of Coffeyville. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 23 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The family has suggested memorials be made to the Tyro Christian Church for R.O.C.K.S. vacation bible school and may be left at the funeral home or can be mailed c/o David W.
