Obituary of Joan E. Roszel

Joan E. Roszel, 81, of Coffeyville passed away Friday, March 25, 2016, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 13, 1934, in Coffeyville to George and Ethel (Stoughton) Cullison. Joan grew up and attended school in Coffeyville. On September 28, 1953, was united in marriage to the love of her life, Eugene "Gene" Roszel in Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home Coffeyville where they raised their three daughters. When their daughters were older Joan returned to work at Windsor Place and later at Rok-A-Chair. Her husband preceded her in death on August 19, 2007. Joan was a member of the Tyro Christian Church. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and genealogy, but most of all loved spending time with her family. Survivors include three daughters, Joni Lea Payne and husband Ed of Coffeyville, Donna Jean Vail of Carbondale, IL, and Debra Sue Goodbar and husband Cris of Coffeyville; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one infant son, and seven brothers and sisters. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville with Evangelist David Bycroft of the Tyro Christian Church officiating. Friends may sign the register book on Thursday, March 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the Coffeyville Friends of Animals, or Tyro Christian Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
