James Louis "Buck" Phillips, 60, of Coffeyville passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Windsor Place.
He was born on June 11, 1953 at Aliquippa, PA to Louis and Eleanor (Rock) Phillips. When he was young his family moved to Cheyenne, WY where he grew up and attended school.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp serving from December 1, 1971 to November 30, 1973.
After receiving his honorable discharge from the Marines he lived in Billings, MT where he worked as a Auto Body Repairman and Painter, he loved doing custom graphics. He later moved to Utah where he made his home until moving to Coffeyville in 2005 to be closer to family.
He enjoyed being with friends and family, model aviation, was an accomplished artist, and loved caring for his three dogs.
Survivors include one son, Jay Phillips of California; his sister-in-law, Debbie Phillips of Coffeyville; one niece, Giustina Phillips, and one nephew, Joseph Phillips both of Coffeyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Bud, and Kenny; and three sisters, Patty, Joann, and Caroline.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2013 at at Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, OK, with Chaplain Mike Graham, and Rev. Jim York officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, with Military Honors conducted by V.F. W. Post #1022 and American Legion Post #20.
Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
