Lynn Marie (Hunt) Mayfield, 76, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, KS. Lynn was born on July 2, 1939 in Taft, California. She was the daughter of Charles Spellacy Stewart and Barton and Jessie Lou (Armstrong) Hunt. She graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1957 and attended Coffeyville Community College. She married Myrel Mayfield in 1965 and later divorced. Lynn worked as an administrative assistant and office manager at various businesses in Kansas City, Coffeyville and Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Coffeyville. Lynn was an avid reader, especially mysteries; loved playing in several bridge groups, playing cards until her final days. She was a diehard Chiefs fan and loved the Royals too. Lynn will be remembered for her candor, creativity and especially he unique brand of humor. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Stewart and her step-father Barton Hunt. Lynn is survived by her daughter, Mary Helen Mayfield of Cass County Missouri and her son Lee Andrew Mayfield of Lenexa, Kansas. She is also survived by her mother, Jessie Lou Hunt, and her sisters, Betty Gossard and Gail Misch of Coffeyville and Lee Ann Martin of Lenexa, Kansas, along with their many family members. Services are pending under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home. The family welcomes contributions to the Alzheimer's Association and may be left at the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral, 306 N. Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
