Michael Stephen King, 47, of Dearing, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at his home. Mike was born on December 4, 1968 in Coffeyville, Kansas. He was the son of Guy L. and Mildred V. (McCormick) King. He grew up in Coffeyville and graduated from Field Kindley High School with the Class of 1988. Throughout his life he worked different jobs. He was a manager in retail sales and worked at Amazon, but what he enjoyed most was the 20+ years he served as a volunteer fire fighter for the Dearing Rural Fire Department. Mike enjoyed playing golf, hunting, shooting pool and umpiring little league baseball games. He was a kind and generous person. He always had a smile on his face that spread to those who were around him. His generosity to help others was noticed and appreciated by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Mike is survived by many family and friends who will cherish his memory. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dearing Christian Church in Dearing, Kansas under the direction of David W. Barnes funeral home of Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials can be made to the Dearing Rural Fire Department; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
