My grandparents Mr and Mrs Thompson lived in the apartment house for a few years that Butch's family ran as my grandpa worked on the railroad just down the street.
In the summers I would go spend some time with them and had a great time with Butch. He was just a bit older and kind of like having a part time big brother. He was starting to take an interest in the drums. Had a good time in the field between the apartments and Grandma Terry's house, watching the trains, going to the store on the corner and got to participate in a pop bottle rocket fight in the street one July 4th. It ended when one of the girls got a pop bottle rocket stuck in her leg......
Had not had any news of the family since about 1973, Mrs Wright (Maxine) kept in touch with Grandma for a while. I wish I could have played some music with Butch as I turned out to be a performing musician too.
I'll remember Earl B as his mom used to call him and his parents. Sending sympathy to the family.

Even though I had known Earl for thirtysome years, I was not his oldest or best friend. But, Everytime I would visit with him, he always made you feel like you were.

Fred & family
I was heartbroken to hear that Butch passed away. I've know him since the 1 st grade, and lived across the street from him for more years than I can count. We had waterballoon fights and I'll never forget that pop bottle rocket fight. Playing pool in that room up stairs in his house.I just talked to him a few month back, and we had a good laugh at all the fun we had when we were kids. When I talk about my childhood memories. ..... Butch will aways be there. Jill
