Judith K. "Judy" Roeder, 74, of Coffeyville passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at her home, with her husband and children by her side.
She was born on October 27, 1941 in Coffeyville to Fred A. and Edith M. (Griswold) Kriebel. Judy grew up and attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School.
On June 13, 1959, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Delbert Roeder. Following their marriage they lived in Coffeyville for six months moving to Tulsa, OK where they made their home until returning to Coffeyville in 1965. After returning to Coffeyville Judy was employed by USD 445 as a teacher's aide at Whittier Elementary School for 22 years.
Judy was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Parent Teachers Assoc. serving as President several times while her children where in school, was a volunteer with the American Heart Assoc. and was active in the Boys and Girls Club when her kids were growing up.
She loved cooking, working with children, collecting frogs, but most of all loved spending time with her family whether it be camping, teaching her children and grandchildren about nature or just spending time singing to them
Survivors include her husband, Delbert of the home; one daughter, Serenia Bilby (Bobby Smith) of Coffeyville; two sons, Jeffery Roeder of Tulsa, OK, and Tim Roeder (Karla) of Coffeyville; seven grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Rosary Vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Holy Name Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Chad Arnold officiating. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville.
Friends may sign the register book on Wedneday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
