So sorry to learn of your Mom's passing. She lived a long, good life. I wasn't aware of her passing till it was all over. We go way, way back. Your Mom (and Dad and Persis) were always kind to me and my parents and family. They always sought us out and our beginnings were through the Church. Know that our prayers are with you all. Voelzke Family --- Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you. My mom, Joan, told me this morning that she had seen in the Journal where Irene had passed away. When we moved to West Coffeyville in that late 1960's - Irene and Rich lived across the street and Irene became our family accountant and even in the years we lived away from Coffeyville, my mom always got her "books" ready to take to Irene. They continued their friendship and business relationship through the decades. Personally, I always think of Irene as one of the most joyful people I ever met. She always had a laugh and a smile. I remember when they lived out north of Cedar Bluff and visiting them --- and that laugh! I took dance lessons from Kay for several years when I was growing up and I remember being impressed with Kay's supportive parents --- It was Rich and Irene who made sure the sound system was working right and Irene helped with the costumes. I also have fond memories of Irene's garage sales. When I was in early grade school it was better than shopping at Old Yellow Front or Gibson's -- to go to Irene's Garage Sales -- like new stuff at cheap prices -- in fact, I grabbed a purple towel out of our cabinet the other day and laughed to myself when I realized it came from Irene's Garage Sale in 1974. What great memories of a very special family! With Love from the Mathis Family!
