Virginia M. Green, 93, of Edna, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016, at Labette Health in Parsons, KS.
She was born on January 12, 1923, in Coffeyville to Harold and Minnie (McCabe) Ruth. Virginia grew up and attended school in Coffeyville
On August 7, 1941, she was united in marriage to John Green at Nowata, OK. Following their marriage Virginia maintained their home in Coffeyville while her husband served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. After his discharge they continued living in Coffeyville until moving to their home in Edna in 1951. Her husband preceded her in death on December 5, 2000.
Virginia was a member of the Bartlett Christian Church in Bartlett, KS and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She loved being outdoors and caring for animals, fishing, and bowling. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Green and wife Karol of Edna, Richard Green and wife Barbaraof Welch, OK, and Ron Green and wife Renae of Edna; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2016, at the Bartlett Christian Church in Bartlett, KS with Pastor Fred Wooldridge officiating. Burial will be in Lake Creek Cemetery southwest of Bartlett.
Friends may call on Thursday, September 1st, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bartlett Christian Church in Bartlett.
