Winfred Ray Bell, Sr., 77, of Coffeyville, passed away Tuesday night (July 31, 2007) at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, OK.
He was born January 20, 1930 at Blue Springs, Missouri to William Fredrick and Laura Mae (Daniels) Bell. When he was young he moved with his family to the Weir, KS area where he grew up and attended school graduating from Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg, KS.
On April 14, 1952 he married Patsy Pauline Gibson at Bentonville, Arkansas. Following their marriage they made their home in Galena, Kansas until moving to Coffeyville in 1959. Mrs. Bell preceded him in death on June 13, 2002.
Mr. Bell was an Institutional Food Salesman for Thomas Fruit Company in Joplin, MO for 30 years, and Monsour's Inc. retiring in 1993.
He was a member of Grace Fellowship, the Praise Band, and belonged to the Bible Study group at his church.
Survivors include two sons, Ray and Janice Bell, Jr. and Randy and Kathy Bell all of Coffeyville; three grandchildren, Stephanie and Steve Gilfillan, Stacy and Heath Stapleton, and Melissa Bell all of Coffeyville; and three great-grandchildren, Brayden Gilfillan, Drake Stapleton, and Libby Stapleton all of Coffeyville. In addition to his parents and wife Mr. Bell was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (August 4, 2007) at Grace Fellowship with Rev. Gerald Morris officiating. Burial will be in Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville.
Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
