Eugene "Gene" Erwin Miesner, 87, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas. Gene was born on April 6, 1929 in Howden, Oklahoma to Paul and Viola (Gerler) Miesner. He grew up in Lenapah, Oklahoma where he graduated high school. On May 5, 1950 he married the love of his life, Patricia "Pat" (Taylor) Miesner. After living in Lenapah and in the Old Parker district, the couple made Coffeyville their home. They had three sons and a daughter. In earlier years, Gene drove a truck for Page Milk Company. He then drove a truck for Kanoma Co Op for over twenty years until his retirement. Gene was a lifelong member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Coffeyville. He served as a trustee along with participating in many church groups and activities over the years. His hobbies were fishing, wood working, camping and traveling to see family. Most of all he loved the time he spent surrounded by his family and friends. Surviving to honor his memory are his loving wife, Pat of Coffeyville, Kansas; sons, Ron Miesner and wife, Mary of Independence, Kansas, Phil Miesner and wife, Cyndi of Rockwall, Texas, Tom Miesner and wife, Patti of Coffeyville, Kansas; daughter, Sheri Miesner of Coffeyville; grandchildren, Aaron Miesner, Josh Miesner and wife, Mary, Kim Wilson, Kristi Wilson, Jake Miesner, Ryan Miesner, Melody Brister, John Brister, Jill Jones and husband, Spencer, Kyle Miesner and wife, Linda, Kate Foster and husband, Bill, Kelly Hanna, Kristi McQuary and husband, Tommy, Anne Welch and husband, Wade; twenty one great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; sisters, Lucille Miesner, Myrtle Flanders and husband, Marvin, all of Coffeyville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Viola; daughter-in-law, Linda Miesner; granddaughter, Tiffany Arizmendi; granddaughter-in-law, Maggie Miesner; great grandchildren, Bo Miesner, Lance Miesner, Dakota Miesner and Joshua Michael Miesner. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Coffeyville. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may sign the guest register at David W. Barnes Funeral home on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Family visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Coffeyville; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
