Marjorie May Bowser, 95, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016 at her home. Marjorie was born on July 30, 1921 in Fort Scott, Kansas to Edgar and Dora (Cook) Post. She grew up in Fort Scott where she graduated High School. She married Robert Pratz in Fort Scott, Kansas where they raised four children. They moved to Fort Rucker, Alabama when Robert re-enlisted in the Army as a flight instructor. They lived there until Robert's death in 1978 when she moved her children to Enid, Oklahoma. Marjorie married Bill Bowser in Coffeyville, Kansas and owned and operated a laundromat, Bowser's Bed and Breakfast, and co-owned Bowser Midget Mart. She loved to play bridge with her friends. She was a foster mother to new born babies until they could be placed for adoption. Her favorite pleasure was the Post family reunion each summer. Marjorie was a member of the First Christian Church in Fort Scott, Kansas and attended the First United Methodist Church and Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville, Kansas. She is survived by her children, Robert (Doris) Pratz of Costa Rica, Donna Hart of Coffeyville, Kansas, James Michael Pratz of Angel Fire, New Mexico, Rebecca (Jack) LaCroix of Aspen, Colorado; Bill's children, Tom (Judy) Bowser of Kansas City, Kansas, Barbara Howard of Florida, Dale Bowser of Texas, Jane (B.J.) Gowen of Leavenworth, Kansas; grandchildren, great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Dora; husband, Robert Pratz; husband, Bill Bowser; three sisters and one brother. Following Marjorie's wishes cremation has taken place under the direction of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville and no service is scheduled at this time. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott, KS. The family suggests memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
