Obituary of Joshua Alen Hill

Joshua Alen "Josh" Hill, 31, of rural Welch, OK, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016, at his home. He was born on September 12, 1985, in Coffeyville, KS to Joe and Judy (Hills) Hill. Josh grew up and attended school in Coffeyville where he attended Holy Name Catholic School, Roosevelt Middle School, and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 2004. While in high school he was an active member of F.F.A. Josh also attended SEK Vo-tech where he received certification in HVAC. On August 14, 2010, he married the love of his life, Alicia Kimrey at Bartlett, KS. Following their marriage they made their home in rural Welch, OK where Josh was involved in Ranching. Josh was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. He was a member of the Edna Saddle Club, and a former member of 4-H where he showed bucket calves and lambs. Josh had a passion for restoring tractors, caring for his horses and dogs, raising cattle, doing leatherwork, cooking, gardening and fishing. But most of all loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Alicia of the home; his father, Joe Hill of South Coffeyville, OK; his maternal grandmother, Jo Briggs of Independence, KS; his maternal grandfather, Jim Hills of Lenapah, OK; his paternal grandmother, Eva Males of South Coffeyville, OK; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jake and Jan Kimrey of rural Welch, OK; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Hill. A Rosary Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Chad Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Coffeyville F.F.A. Chapter, or FORPAZ (Friends of Riverside Park and Zoo) in Independence; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
