Obituary of Elsie Mae Osborn

Elsie Mae Osborn, 92, of Coffeyville passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Windsor Place in Coffeyville. Elsie Mae Osborn was born on Feb. 19th, 1924, to Carl and Stella Smith in Liberty, Kansas She was married to Frank J. Osborn for 50 years plus. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Gerald Dean, two sisters, Louise and Mildred, and one brother, Edwin. Elsie is survived by one son, Allan Osborn and wife Lora of Coffeyville; one daughter, Carolyn M. DuPre of Coffeyville; one brother, Alvin Smith and wife Betty of Independence; one grandson, Neil A. Osborn and wife Katelyn of Coffeyville; one granddaughter, Cinnamon L. Wygant and husband Mark of Albany, Oregon; one great-grandson, Brandon T. Sjolander of Albany, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews. Elsie and her husband owned and operated Osborn Oil and Tire of Coffeyville for many years, she also worked for several local retail stores. After retiring she work part time at KOPCO in Caney with several retired friends with whom she traveled and shared many good times with. Elsie was a loving mother, sister and wife, and made many new friends while living as a resident of Windsor Place for the past year, where she was adopted and became the resident mom with the beautiful smile, and their piano, singing rock star. She will be truly missed by all. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at the Jefferson Cemetery northwest of Coffeyville with Chaplain Keith Springer of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or the American Cancer Society; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
