Obituary of Laurel Sue Coffey

Laurel Sue "Susie" Coffey, 67, of Coffeyville passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at her home.
She was born on September 5, 1949 at Independence, Kansas to Barton Delbert and Lora Lee (Elliott) Sleeper. Susie grew up and attended school in Cherryvale, Ks graduating from Cherryvale High School. She also attended Coffeyville Community College and Tri-County Tech.
On June 6, 1969, she was united in marriage to Larry Coffey at the Cherryvale Christian Church. Following their marriage they made their home in Cherryvale until moving to Coffeyville in 1973.
Susie was employed at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center for over 30 years. She retired in 2007 as Home Health Secretary.
She enjoyed camping, trips to Branson, MO, shopping and going to rummage sales, but her greatest love was the time spent with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Coffey of the home; two sons, Jason Coffey and wife Mendy of Owasso, OK, and Tommy Coffey of Coffeyville; one daughter, Jay Ann Thompson and husband Brian of Altamont, KS; five grandchildren, Casey Thompson, Jonathan Coffey, Joey Coffey, Jamie Thompson, and Madison Coffey; and her beloved pets, Pixie, Crissie, Minnie, Nat and Loki.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Bill Hall, one brother and one sister.
Following Susie's wishes cremation has taken place and no service is planned at this time.
