Obituary of Brenda Lou Sortore

Brenda Lou Sortore, 56, of Coffeyville passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 16, 1960, at Coffeyville, to Buddy L. and Ida (Brooks) Rosson. Brenda grew up in the rural South Coffeyville, OK area where she attended grade school and graduated from Lenapah High School. On September 22, 2007, she was united in marriage to Matthew Sortore at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. Brenda was employed as Purchasing Manager at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center for many years, following her retirement she helped her husband in Facilities Management at CRMC. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Brenda enjoyed cooking and being outdoors, she was an avid Kansas State University sports fan, but her greatest love and enjoyment was time spent with her family. Survivors include her husband, Matthew Sortore of the home; her son, Daniel Rosson of Manhattan, KS, one step-son, Ray Sortore and wife Kristen of Houston, TX; her mother, Ida Rosson of rural South Coffeyville; two brothers, Leslie Rosson of South Coffeyville, OK and Larry Rosson of Coffeyville, KS; and one sister, LaDonna Rice of Coffeyville, KS. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Coffeyville. Burial will be in Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville. Friends may call on Wednesday, February 15th from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
