Obituary of Bernardine Shaw

Bernardine Shaw, 88, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.
Mrs. Shaw was born in Liberty, Kansas on November 20, 1928. She was the daughter of John Caulfield and Frances (Gribbin) Caulfield. She went to grade school at Holy Name and graduated from Field Kindley High school in 1947.
She married Paul C. Shaw, Jr. on November 29, 1947. The couple had three children. In 1956 they moved to Phoenix, Arizona. They later moved to Garden Grove, California. In 1967 they moved back to Coffeyville.
In 1970 she opened Mode O Day ladies dress shop and had it for eleven years. In 1981 she sold it and then worked for Par Mac for two years then with H W Reads for two years. She then worked for State Farm for nine years. She retired at 65.
Mrs. Shaw was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and Ladies Alter Society. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving to honor her memory are her children, Paul C. Shaw III and wife, Suzi of Waikoloa, Hawaii, Charles D. Shaw and wife, Paula of Euless, Texas, Nancy D. (Shaw) Waugh and husband, Mike of Coffeyville, Kansas; grandchildren, Julie Koon and husband, Chris, Clayton Shaw and wife, Sheri, Charles "Danny" Shaw and wife, Jennifer, Bridget (Waugh) Brown and husband, Frank, Jimmy Waugh and wife, Racey, Lindsey (Caldwell) Cross and husband, Jon; great grandchildren, Jade (Shaw) Davis, Zoe Koon, Andrew Shaw, Jaylynn Shaw, Tanner Shaw, Jarrett Shaw, Natalee Shaw, Brady Brown, Kensi Brown, Camden Waugh, Adalynn Waugh and Paislee Waugh; brother, John Caulfield of Iowa Park, Texas; sisters, Mary Whittington of Texas and Judith Smith of Chico, California.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Caulfield; mother, Frances Caulfield Papen, step father Sam Papen and her loving husband, Paul.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Fairview Cemetery Veterans Memorial Patio with Father Chad Arnold officiating. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may sign the register book on Friday, February 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family suggests memorials to Holy Name Catholic Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
