Beverly Ann Halligan, 81, of Caney, Kansas passed away on March 1, 2017 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Beverly was born on April 9, 1935 in Dewey, Oklahoma to Frank and Waneta (Fields) Rigdon. She graduated from Caney Valley High School in Caney, Kansas and earned her Associates Degree at Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kansas. On June 11, 1955 she married the love of her life, John "Joe" Joseph Halligan in Caney, Kansas at the United Methodist Church. The couple made Caney their home where they raised their two children. Beverly spent her time taking care of her family.
She was a member of the Caney United Methodist Church and active in the Wesley Weds Sunday School class. She enjoyed spending time with all of her family and hosting family parties; most of all she loved the time she spent surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Surviving to honor her memory is her son, Jeff Halligan and wife, Jenni of Overland Park, Kansas; daughter, Jennifer Murphy of Caney, Kansas; grandchildren, Joe and Scott Halligan and Jack Murphy; sisters, Norma Russell and husband, Bobby Joe of Caney, Kansas, Delores Miller and husband, Otis of Rogers, Arkansas; sister in laws, Viola Rigdon of Caney, Kansas, Sonya Rigdon of Coffeyville, Kansas, Phyllis Rigdon of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Marge Kussman of Arizona; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Waneta; loving husband, Joe; brothers, Dean, Keith and Glenn Rigdon; brother in laws, Bob and Lloyd Halligan and a sister in law, Merry Halligan.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Tyro Christian Church in Tyro, Kansas. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas. Family will greet friends Monday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to The Journey Home Hospice; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
