Marilyn Adamson, 73, of Coffeyville entered into rest July 5, 2007 at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.
She was born August 29, 1933 in Kansas City, MO to Frank and Sylvia (Taylor) McGrath. She grew up and attended schools in Kansas City, MO.
On September 2, 1950 she married Robert Adamson. Following their marriage they made their home in Kansas City until moving to Coffeyville in 1958.
Marilyn was a homemaker and from 1976 to 1986 was employed at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
She was an active member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Altar Society and P.T.O. at Holy Name Catholic School. Marilyn enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to several Bridge Clubs, she also enjoyed writing poetry, craft making and especially enjoyed time spent with her many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Robert of the home; five sons, Robert (Jamie)Adamson of Oklahoma City, OK, Mike (Sharon) Adamson of Coffeyville, Daniel (Dana) Adamson of Helena, MT, Richard Adamson of Coffeyville, and Charles (Robin) Adamson of Coffeyville; four daughters, Sharon (Greg) Huelsman of Overland Park, KS, Mary (Jon) Clough of Coffeyville, Pamela Adamson of Oklahoma City, OK, and Cynthia (Derek) Murdock of Coffeyville; one sister, Marie Garcia of Independence, MO; 24 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A Rosary Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday (July 9, 2007) at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (July 10, 2007) at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Jerome Spexarth officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville.
Friends may call on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
