James Alex "Jim" Martin, 57, of Coffeyville formerly of Edna, KS, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017, at his home.
He was born on November 29, 1959, at Coffeyville to Bud and Rachel (Graves) Martin. Jim grew up and attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School. He attended Coffeyville Community College.
On February 14, 1982, he married Lori Baker at Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville and Ponca City, OK before moving to Edna where they lived for many years before returning to Coffeyville.
Jim owned and operated his own delivery truck for FedEx for over 20 years delivering packages in the area west of Coffeyville and in Bartlesville, OK until retiring due to his health.
He was a member of Cross Timber Community Church in Edna and the First Assembly of God in Coffeyville for many years. When he was younger, he was a Royal Ranger and was one of the first in Kansas to achieve the Gold Crown Award. He enjoyed fishing, going to rummage sales, auctions, and antiquing. But his greatest joy was time spent with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Lori of the home; two sons, Aaron Martin of Edna, and Micah Martin and partner Sean Waters of Ithaca, NY; one daughter, Hannah Martin and partner Zacharias Drumeller of Kansas City, MO; his parents, Bud and Rachel Martin of Coffeyville; one sister, Sheila Lander and husband Don of Nixa, MO; one brother, Donald Martin and wife Debbie of Coffeyville; and one grandson, Andrew Martin.
