Obituary of Scott Randall Pollett

Scott Randall "Randy" Pollett 66, of Coffeyville passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
He was born on December 1, 1950, at Coffeyville to Lawrence Dwight and Betty Helen (Brown) Pollett. He grew up and attended school in Dearing and Coffeyville completing his education graduating from Oak Park High School in Gladstone, MO.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Viet Nam War from November 25, 1968 until receiving an honorable discharge on September 6, 1971. Following his discharge he returned to Coffeyville where he was employed at Haliburton and later as a truck driver hauling heavy equipment until becoming disabled.
He was a member and presiding Commander of American Legion Post #20, Coffeyville. In his spare time, he enjoyed participating in a local pool league with great friends. Randy always had a project he was working on, big dreams and rich with people that cared about him.
Survivors include one daughter, Shannon Uhrmacher and husband Ross of Neodesha, KS; one son, Shawn Pollett of Navarre, FL; two brothers, Darrell Pollett of Hamburg, IA and Larry Pollett of Independence; one sister, Pamela Cone of Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren, Shelby Uhrmacher and Taylor Uhrmacher; and one great-granddaughter, Saige Averie Whitworth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight Pollett, and Betty Edwards, and one brother, Dickie Pollett.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2017, at the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville. Military Honors will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1022 and American Legion Post #20 members and Riders. The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting a luncheon immediately after the graveside services at 811 W 12th St, Coffeyville. Everyone is welcomed to attend.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family suggests memorials to Disabled American Veterans (DAV); contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
