Obituary of Wilbur V. Brown

Wilbur Vincent Brown, 66, of Coffeyville formerly of Independence passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at his home. He was born on March 6, 1954 in Independence, Kansas to William and Eva (Relford) Brown. He grew up near Independence, Kansas where he graduated from Independence High School. In 1972 he enlisted to serve his country in the United States Army. Some of that time was spent stationed in Germany. He received his honorable discharge in 1975. Survivors include his siblings, Vasco Brown of Independence, Kansas, Vanessa Shepherd of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, John M. Brown of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Geri Brooks of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Delmar Brown of Lyons, Kansas, Angela Henderson of Independence, Kansas, DeWayne Brown of Wichita, Kansas; along with a host of nephews and nieces. Cremation has taken place under the direction of David. W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
