Life Reflections/ Homegoing Celebration of Shirley Page May 17, 1943 – September 14, 2017 Strength and honor are her clothing…...Her children will arise up and call her BLESSED Proverbs 31: 25, 28 Shirley Kay (French) Page, a true lady—poised and refined. She loved all and was loved by all. She was the true queen of our hearts. She was small/petite in stature, but her impact was strong, mighty, and larger than life. Her smile and warm embrace brought comfort and joy to all who knew her. Shirley graced this world with her presence on May 17, 1943. She was the fourth of five children born to the union of Lillie Mae (Perry) and Charles French. Shirley attended Unified School District 445 and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1961. She also pursued her post-secondary education at Coffeyville Community College. On August 1, 1968, Shirley married the love of her life, Cardian Page and took residence in Topeka, KS for approximately 2 years prior to returning to Coffeyville, KS. To this union, 3 children were born: Cardian, Melissa, and Paula. In her early years, Shirley worked for the Dale Hotel, H&R Block, and Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She retired from her CRMC positon in Medical Records/Birth Registry in 2004 and worked part-time at the Coffeyville Board of Education for several years. She was an avid PTA volunteer while her children and grandchildren were in school and received PTA Volunteer of the Year in 1984. Shirley committed her life to Christ at an early age and was an active member of Sardis First Missionary Baptist Church. Her life was a testament of God's true love and strength. She found pleasure in serving others and spending time with her family. She enjoyed holiday dinners, listening to Chris play the piano, late night talks with D.J. and his friends, as well as family trips to Branson. Her heart was her family and it was important for them to stay bonded and together. Shirley transitioned to her new home in glory and departed this life on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixteen years- Cardian Page; parents; brother- James Allen French; sister- Ella Jean French; and great granddaughter- Dazariah LaJoyce Lovelace. She leaves to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy: 3 children of Coffeyville, KS- Cardian Michael Page (son), Melissa Page-Preston (daughter), Paula "Nikki" Page (daughter); 4 grandchildren: Cardian Christopher Page, Dominique "DJ" Lovelace (Deshanta Lanos), Tere and Ada Cervantes; 2 great grandchildren- Tommyiah Downing and Dominique "DL" Lovelace; 2 sisters of Coffeyville: Charlesetta Wilson and Elenor Downing; children-in-love Dinah Davis and Michele Fredensborg of Coffeyville and Lamont Lovelace of Fort Worth, TX; along with a host of family and friends. Precious memories of our dear mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend- Shirley Page- will be forever engrained in the hearts and minds of those near and dear to her. A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Shirley Kay Page will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Sardis First Missionary Baptist Church, 414 East 2nd St., Coffeyville, KS with Dr. Virgil Horn officiating. Inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery at a later date. Friends may sign the register book on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials in Shirley's memory to the Sardis First Missionary Baptist Church Mission Department; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W.
