Obituary of Dalton Wyatt Owens
Dalton Wyatt Owens, 20, of rural Havana, KS, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Beloit, KS.
He was born on October 29, 1997, at Coffeyville to Justin and Tamecca (Datson) Owens. Dalton grew up in the Dearing and Havana area, where he attended Kindergarten at Edgewood School in Coffeyville completing grade school at Lincoln Elementary School in Caney and graduated from Caney Valley High School in 2016. While in high school he played football and baseball and was involved in power lifting. Dalton currently was a student at North Central Kansas Technical College in Beloit studying Diesel Technology.
Dalton was a member of the Tyro Christian Church in Tyro, KS. He enjoyed fishing, riding horses and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his mother, Tamecca York of Shelbyville, TN; his father, Justin Owens and wife Donna of rural Havana; one brother, Jacob Owens of rural Havana; two sisters, Montana Owens, and Kimberly Owens both of rural Havana; his fiancé Tomi Watson and unborn child; grandparents, Tammy and Frank Peffley of Coffeyville, Tim Datson of Coffeyville, Brandon and Janice Owens of Independence, Richard and Patti Absher of Caney, and James and Dianne Reed of Elk City; great-grandparents, Richard Datson of Coffeyville; Wydene Finney of Tyro, and Jo Ann Owens of Coffeyville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services celebrating Dalton's life will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the Tyro Christian Church with Evangelist David Bycroft officiating. Private family burial will take place later in the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville.
Friends may call on Friday, November 17th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will greet friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Tyro Christian Church in Tyro.
The family suggests memorials to a fund established at Arvest Bank in Caney in Dalton's memory; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
