Obituary of Edna Marie Boles

Caney - Edna Marie Boles, age 81 of Caney, passed away Sunday, May 25 at her home. Edna was born to Buford Clarence "B.C." and Ida (Richards) Goines on September 8, 1926 in Henryetta, Oklahoma. She grew up in Bartlesville where she graduated from high school. She worked at Boeing in Wichita during WWII. In August of 1947, Edna married Evart Lee Boles in Bartlesville where they made their home. She worked at Continental Can, Wakeland Grocery Store, and Kopco. Edna was an active member of Caney United Methodist Church and enjoyed bowling. Survivors include three sons, Michael (Connie) Boles of Piqua, Kansas, Bruce (Georgia) Boles of Pacheco, California, and Roger (Cheryl) Boles of Edmond, Oklahoma; two sisters, Burdina Rogers of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Rosa Lee Goines of Hemit, California; one half-brother, Jerry Goines of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; , and two half-sisters, Shirley Bright and Janet Nickles both of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Edna has been preceded in death by her husband, her parents. Services will be 10:00 Friday morning (May 30, 2008) at the Caney United Methodist Church with Rev. Angela DeFisher officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Sunnyside Cemetery. Friends may call between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the church in Caney. Edna's family suggests that contributions in her memory be made to Coffeyville Friends of Animals and A.W.O.L. (Animals with Our Love).
