Obituary of Marjorie Ann Brown
Marjorie Ann Brown, 88, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.
Marjorie was born on February 19, 1929 in Altoona, Kansas to Forest and Ruth (Tefft) Jarred. She grew up in Altoona where she graduated high school. She also attended a year of college.
On October 27, 1947 she was married the love of her life, Neville Brown. Neville worked for the railroad so the couple lived in Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas. Marjorie worked as a telephone operator for 19 years and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, reading and gardening. Most of all she loved the time she spend surrounded by her family and friends.
Surviving to honor her memory is her son, Charles Brown of Russell, Kansas; sister, Mary Rettmann of Altoona, Kansas; granddaughters, Sherry and Cindy and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Forest and Ruth Jarred; husband, Neville Brown; brothers, Forest Jarred Jr., Robert Lee Jarred and Kenneth Earl Jarred.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas. Pastor Jim Raymond of Verdigris Valley Church in Altoona, Kansas will officiate. Private burial will take place following the service in Altoona, Kansas.
Friends may sign the guest register from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
