Obituary of Arthur D. Jones

Arthur D. Jones, 88, of Fred, TX formerly of Caney, KS passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018, at his home. He was born on June 29, 1929 in Caney and lived with his parents Fred D. and Ruby (Gillespie) Jones. Arthur grew up in Caney, McPherson, and Hutchinson. Arthur was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force, while in the Air Force he was stationed in Japan and Korea and Colorado. In 1952 he married Eilene Maxine Witt of Oberlin, KS. Arthur was employed by Martin Marietta in Denver Colorado, where he worked for over 30 years. His wife preceded him in death in 1983. Survivors include his children, David of Wisconsin, Joe of Michigan, Mary Louann (Jones) Gilchriest of Texas, Jeff of Texas, Tom and Mike of Arizona, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 13th at the First Assembly of God in Caney with Pastor Jeff Wyrick officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney. Friends may call on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the First Assembly of God in Caney.
