Annalea Corbin-Kerr, age 74 of Sedan, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, June 11, 2007 at the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home in Sedan.
She was born December 20, 1932 in Sedan, Kansas to Frank and Marguerite Emma (Straight) Ward. She grew up and attended school in Sedan, graduating from there in 1950. She married David Corbin on December 27, 1950 in Sedan, Kansas, where they made their home. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1978. After his death, she moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1983. She later married John Paul Kerr on April 26, 1986 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They returned to Sedan in 1999 and lived there until her death. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2004.
She worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Chautauqua County Extension Office and the Sedan Times-Star Newspaper in Sedan. She later worked in the same capacity at the Phillips Petroleum Company and the Nipper Company, both in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
She was a member of the First Christian Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Sedan.
She is survived by two sons, James Corbin of Sedan, Kansas and David Corbin of Novato, California; two brothers, Carl F. Ward of Oskaloosa, Kansas and Jack G. Ward of Sedan, Kansas; one sister Shirley Shirkey of San Jose, California and three grandchildren, Andrea Corbin of Haysville, Kansas and Matthew and Michelle Corbin of Novato, California
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband David and her second husband John.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, June 14, 2007 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2007 at the First Christian Church of Sedan, Kansas with Pastor Penny Goldberg officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, Kansas.
