Obituary of Eugene D. Garrison

Coffeyville - Eugene D. "Gene" Garrison, 76, of Coffeyville, passed away Sunday morning (June 10, 2007) in Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. He was born November 30, 1930 in Earlton, Kansas to William and May (McKinsey) Garrison. When he was young he moved with his family to Chanute where he began his education, the family later moved to California and Arkansas where he completed his education. Following high school he joined the United States Navy. On January 10, 1954 he married Mary Ann Glades at Thayer, Kansas. Following their marriage they made their home in Thayer until moving to Coffeyville in 1957. After moving to Coffeyville he was employed at Jensen Mfg. Co., and Funk Mfg. Co. until becoming a self-employed Carpenter. He attended the Methodist Church. In his spare time Gene enjoyed fishing and golfing. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Garrison of the home; two daughters, Cathy Manley of Coffeyville, and Patti Sesto of Kansas City, MO; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Restlawn Memorial Park with Rev. John Collins of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call on Monday until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association; contributions may be left with the funeral home.
