Obituary of Ivan Lee Benson

Ivan Lee Benson, 80 of Wann, Oklahoma passed away on April 17, 2018 at his home in the presence of his family.

He was born on August 27, 1937 in Chester, Oklahoma to Paul C. and Fern (Floyd) Benson. Ivan was the oldest of ten children and graduated from Wann High School in 1955.

Ivan worked at the flour mill in Coffeyville, Kansas for 47 years.

On April 12, 1957 he married Marjorie Fern Ryan at Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and spent 61 years of married life on their farm near Wann.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul C. and Fern Benson; three brothers, Paul Benson, Lonnie Benson, and Tony Benson; two sisters, Doris Yeubanks and Treva Yeubanks; one sister-in-law, Carolin Benson; and one son-in-law, Roscoe Stevenson.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Benson; daughter, Phyllis Stevenson; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathy Benson; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Keith Woolever; and son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Tracey Benson; grandchildren, Sarah Stevenson, Jaclyn Stevenson, Patricia Stevenson, Rebecca Cowan and husband Michael, Jeremy Benson and wife Erica, Kaleb Woolever and wife Marisa, Ethan Woolever and wife Carmen, Chelsea Molskness and husband Dane, Taylor Benson and Jordan Benson; great-grandchildren, Asher Harrington, Jaret Cowan, Weston Cowan and Owen Woolever; and brothers, Bennie Benson, Robert Benson, Clifford Benson and Larry Benson.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Lewark Church of God, 920 Lewark St., Coffeyville, KS. Burial will follow in Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville.

Friends may call on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.  Family will greet friends and family from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
