Obituary of Margaret Lorene Harrison

Margaret Lorene (Smith) Harrison, 90, of Caney, Kansas passed away in her home on Friday, April 20, 2018. Margaret was born on August 31, 1927 in Parsons, Kansas to William and Bertha (Parks) Smith. She graduated from Campion Academy in Loveland, Colorado in 1945. She then graduated from the Loma Linda School of Nursing in 1949 and went on to the Walla Walla University in College Place, Washington, graduating in 1953. She achieved her Bachelors in Nursing, working as a RN until her retirement at the age of 65. On October 27, 1954 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Tommy W. Harrison in Coffeyville, Kansas. He preceded her in death. Margaret was a Christian woman who was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith. Survivors include her niece, Susan Monk of Old Fort, Tennessee and her dear friends, the Kittermans. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bertha Smith; loving husband, Tommy Harrison; son, Steven W. Harrison and by her brother, William Earl Smith. Per Margaret's wishes cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas. A Memorial Service will be held by the family at a later date.
