Obituary of Homer L. Foster

Homer Leroy "Sammy" Foster, 81, of Coffeyville passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Windsor Place. He was born on June 4, 1936 in Coffeyville to Frank Leslie and Lula Louise (Hannah) Foster. Sammy grew up and attended school in Coffeyville Sammy worked construction when he was younger and worked at the Salvation Army Thrift Store for many years. He was a member of the Salvation Army and was Scout Master for Troop 65 for several years. He enjoyed fishing, playing UNO, repairing lawn mowers, chain saws, and bicycles. Survivors include two brothers, David Foster and Eddie Foster and two sisters, Sharon McNeal and Mary Frost all of Coffeyville. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John Foster and Jimmy Foster; and three sisters, Audrey Budd, Margie Rowe and Sara Coy. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery Veterans Memorial Patio with Chaplain Mike Graham officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
