Coffeyville - James Curtiss Cooper, 50, of Coffeyville, passed away Sunday (May 27, 2007) in Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. He was born January 14, 1957 in Coffeyville to Lewis George and Pauline Ethel (Miller) Cooper. The family lived in several locations in the United States and around the World while his father was in the military. He graduated from Grace Lake High School in Oklahoma in 1976. He lived in Park Hill, OK for many years returning to Coffeyville in January 2005. James was disabled with Muscular Dystrophy. Survivors include his step-father, Donnie Hill, Sr. of Coffeyville; one sister, Janie Hearson of Coffeyville; a half sister Paula Stukey of Coffeyville; a half brother Donnie Hill, Jr. of Liberty; a stepsister Donna Standard of Coffeyville; a step brother Joe Hill of Coffeyville; and two nieces and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis George Cooper and his mother, Pauline Hill. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Eagle Rock Ministries, 912 W. 8th St. in Coffeyville with Rev. Brendt Wills officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery northwest of Coffeyville. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the James Cooper Memorial Fund; contributions may be left with the funeral home.
