Obituary of Evelyn Lucille Williams

Evelyn Lucille Williams, 84, of Coffeyville passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Windsor Place.

She was born on August 22, 1933 at Washburn, MO to William and Sarah Anna (Crawford) Mahurin. Evelyn grew up in the Granby, MO area where she attended school.

On April 7, 1955 she married Howard L. Williams at Newtonia, MO. Following their marriage they made their home in the Stella, MO area until moving to Coffeyville in 1958. Evelyn was a homemaker and for many years provided child care at their home. Her husband preceded her in death on June 13, 2016.

Evelyn was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed collecting dolls and dishes by her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Ronnie Williams of Coffeyville; one daughter, Bonnie Foster and husband, Donnie of South Coffeyville, OK; eleven siblings, Juanita Channell, Kenneth Mahurin, Irma Bowling, Jane Vermillion, Wilma Hoover, Pearl Loudermilk, Junior Mahurin, Sue Owens, Larry Mahurin, Pat Lassiter, and Marilyn Kyser; two grandchildren, Joshua Foster and Kayce Foster; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one infant daughter, and one brother.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the South Coffeyville United Methodist Church with Pastor Furan Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 18th from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
