Obituary of Darlene Evelyn O'Neill

Darlene Evelyn O'Neill, 85, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Darlene was born on April 12, 1933 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma to Frank and Hazel (Rupe) Siler. She attended high school in Marland, Oklahoma and Afton, Oklahoma where she graduated in 1951. Darlene attended Beauty College at Coffeyville, Kansas. On December 30, 1951 she was united in marriage to Lawrence (Pat) D. O'Neill in Afton, Oklahoma at her parents' house. The couple made their home in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma for 34 years. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2001. On January 23, 2002 she was united in marriage to Jim Ellis at the First Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2010. Darlene was a resident of Asbury Village in Coffeyville for 5 years until the time of her passing. Darlene was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church where she was a greeter, sang in the choir and played piano for Sunday school and taught many Sunday school classes. She more recently was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. . She was a beautician and loved to do hair. She enjoyed all of her clients and the many hours of visiting with each of them. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Alice (Rick) Long, Peggy (Dennis) Wieneke, of Socuth Coffeyville, Oklahoma, and Patty (Randy) Long all of Owasso, Oklahoma, Ed (Donna) O'Neill of Coffeyville, Kansas; brother, Frankie Siler of Clinton, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Angela (Mark) McRay, Kimberlee (Justin) George, Rick (Amanda) Long, Beth (Brian) Nave, Dana (Ryan) Reiman, Rhonda (Travis) Knight, Robby (Danni) Long, Rachel Long and Patrick (Casey) O'Neill; great-grandchildren, Alexis (Blake) Dunsing, Kaitlynn George, Emily and Bryce Long, Anthony, Cory and Nicholas Nave, Chandler, John and Samson Reiman, Rayna, Riley and Skyler Long. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hazel Siler; husband, Lawrence O'Neill; husband, Jim Ellis; sisters, Iva Mae Siler, Florence Scott and Betty Enyart. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bible Baptist Church in Coffeyville. Pastor Daniel Knight will officiate. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials can be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston, Texas or to the Age to Age Learning on Oxford Unit at Windsor Place; contributions can be left with or mailed in care of David W.
