Coffeyville - Larry P. Pearson, 58, of Coffeyville, passed away Wednesday (May 23, 2007) at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was born July 20, 1948 in Coffeyville to Louis James and Edith Fern (Glidewell) Pearson. He grew up in Coffeyville where he attended school, and graduated from Field Kindley High School. On June 23, 1967 he married Elaine Stroud at the First Christian Church in Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in the Coffeyville area. Larry was a professional Truck Driver for 37 years, driving for Tri-State Motor Freight out of Joplin, Mo. He enjoyed spending time off the road at their farm east of Coffeyville, riding his Harley-Davidson, and attending cycle shows. He attended the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Survivors include his wife Elaine Pearson of the home; two sons, D.J. Pearson of Cherryvale, KS, and Ronnie Pearson of Tulsa, OK; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one great-grandchild. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday (May 30, 2007) in the First Christian Church in Coffeyville with Rev. J.E. Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association; contributions may be left with the funeral home.
