Obituary of Beverly K Winston

Beverly Kay (Woodruff) Winston beloved daughter, wife, sister and mother died on August 30, 2018. She is now whole, residing in comfort and peace. She was born to William Preston Woodruff and Doris (Christian) Woodruff on January 7, 1941 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Over the years she has lived in Tulsa, OK; Norman, OK; Overland Park, KS; Bartlesville, OK; and most recently in Coffeyville, KS.

She graduated from Central High School in Tulsa, OK in 1958. She received a B.S. from University of Oklahoma in 1962 and later in 1994 received an M.S. from Northeastern State University…both in psychology. In-between she got a degree in nursing from Tulsa University and became a Registered Nurse. She worked for several years at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville. She worked as an R.N., led in-service training and was in charge of infection control during her time at the hospital.

Beverly married Robert Arnold Kingsbury of Bartlesville, OK in June, 1961. They raised three daughters before divorcing in 1991.

Beverly married Kenneth Alan Winston of Coffeyville, KS in August 1994 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Bartlesville, OK. Kenneth had three grown children

Beverly was actively involved in church. She has held leadership positions at her local parish, St. Paul's Episcopal Church and participated in outreach within the parish family and in the community. She has also been active at diocesan/state levels and on a national level with ECW (Episcopal Church Women). Some of her other interests were Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC), Professional Educators Organization (PEO), Coffeyville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) Auxillary, Bridge club, Reading club, and a Cooking group.

Survivors include daughter Kathy and husband Paul of Laporte, IN, daughter Kimberly and wife Melanie of Crowley, TX, daughter Kelly and husband Greg of Folsom, CA; three grandsons, Robby, Eric and Ian and a sister, Sharon Miller of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Survivors also include step children Paul and wife Mirtica of Chapel Hill, NC, Laura and husband Drew of Leawood, KS, Emily and husband Bill of Gardner, KS, and five grandchildren, Eleanor, Olivia, Luke, Grace and Lily.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Winston, parents Doris and Preston Woodruff, and grandson, Tanner Wilmeth.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Coffeyville, KS. The Reverend William Stanford from Fort Worth, TX will officiate. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will have a private internment at Forest Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, KS from 12 to 8pm. The family will be present from 6 to 8pm.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 613 Elm Street, Coffeyville, KS 67337. Contributions can be sent directly to the church or mailed to David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
