Obituary of Donna C. Pfister

Donna C. Pfister formerly of South Coffeyville, OK passed away in Coffeyville, KS at the age of 88, on September 19, 2018. Donna was born in Pittsburg, KS to Elmer and Susan (Ritter) Fields on September 14, 1930. She grew up and received her education in Pittsburg. The youngest of 10 children she moved to Coffeyville as a teenager to be close to two of her sisters, while working behind the candy counter at S.H. Kress and Co., she met the lover of her life Frank J. Pfister, Sr. They were married on April 24, 1949 at Bentonville, AR. To this union was born Frank J. Pfister, Jr. and Debra Kay Pfister. Donna and her husband of 67 years lived and raised their children in and around Coffeyville and South Coffeyville all of their married life until his death on March 15, 2015. Donna was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. She was employed at Continental Can, Comet Mobile Home Mfg. Co., Funk Mfg. Co. and Elmore IGA in Coffeyville and later at Southland in South Coffeyville until retiring in 1992. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, four sisters, her husband, and one son, Frank Pfister, Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Debra Marvell and husband, Clifford of Clarkridge, AR; dauther-in-law, Karen Pfister Johnson and husband, Richard of South Coffeyville, OK; one sister, Alta Donald of Coffeyville; four grandsons, Gib English and wife, Donna of Topeka, KS, Hudd Pfister and wife Lisa of South Coffeyville, OK, Hank English and wife, Patricia of Emporia, KS, and Josh Pfister and wife, Cynthia of South Coffeyville, OK; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. The family will have a private family memorial service on Monday, September 24, 2018. The family suggests memorials to Holy Name Catholic Church or Holy Name Catholic School; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W.
