Obituary of Ruby May Sallee

Ruby May (Sloan) Sallee, 88, of Coffeyville passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 at Windsor Place. She was born on September 11, 1930 at Olmitz, KS to Charles and Lura May (Aleshire) Sloan. When Ruby was young her family moved to Yates Center, KS where she attended school graduating from Yates Center High School. On October 2, 1949 she married Robert Dean Sallee in Yates Center, KS. Following their marriage they made their home in the Yates Center area until moving to Coffeyville in 1956. Ruby was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker who loved helping others; she enjoyed crocheting and teaching others how to crochet. Ruby also liked reading mystery books, bowling, and watching sports--especially the Kansas City Royals. Bob and Ruby enjoyed square dancing and boating with friends. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren playing card games. Survivors include her husband, Robert of the home; two daughters, Sandra (Sallee) Henry and the late Johnnie Henry and children, Tara (Henry) Stewart and Brandy (Henry) Thiesing and husband, Justin all of rural Liberty, and Marla (Sallee) Larimore and husband, Dave of Coffeyville and their children, Kerby Larimore and wife, Destony of South Coffeyville, OK, Misty (Larimore) Craig and husband, Shane of Nashville, TN, and Bobby Larimore and wife Ashton of St. Joe, MO; and son, Larry Sallee and wife, Amy of Coffeyville and their children, Laramie Sallee and wife Billie, and Wade Sallee all of Coffeyville; ten great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 29, 2018 in Restlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Nicole Schwartz Eck officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to Disabled American Veterans (DAV); contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
