Obituary of Marianna L. Brant

Marianna L. Brant, 74, of rural Havana, KS passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Heritage Villa in Bartlesville, OK. She was born on March 16, 1944 at Independence, KS to Harold and Goldena (Eversole) Sullivan. Marianna grew up on the family farm near Havana, she graduated from Caney High School in 1962. On November 18, 1962 she married Richard Brant in the Caney United Methodist Church. Following their marriage they lived in Bartlesville, OK while Marianna attended Bartlesville Business College. After graduating they moved to Owasso, OK. Marianna was employed as Credit Manager for Earle M. Jorgensen Company in Tulsa, OK and later Dallas, TX for over 20 year retiring in 1997. Following her retirement they returned to rural Havana to make their home. She was a member of the Tyro Christian Church in Tyro, KS and former longtime members of the First Christian Church in Owasso, OK, and served as Secretary of the National Association of Credit Managers. Marianna enjoyed quilting at Tyro Christian Church, and loved spoiling her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Richard of the home; one daughter, Juli Brant of rural Havana, one son, Jason Brant and wife, Miranda of Neosho, MO; three grandchildren, Taylor Johnson and girlfriend Emma Smith of Broken Arrow, OK, Joanna Brant of Windsor, MO, and Rebecca Brant of Neosho, MO; one sister, Patty Fields and husband, Loyd of Caney and their sons, Kelly Fields and wife, Sara of Nixa, MO, and Shane Fields and wife, Marisha of Sedan; one brother, Kenneth Sullivan and wife, Carla of rural Havana and their daughter Micca Brown and her husband, Craig of Gentry, AR; her mother-in-law June Brant of Independence; sister-in-law, Rozalyn Boggs and family of Cherryvale, and brother-in-law, Rodney Spader and family of Wichita. A Celebration of Marianna's life will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Tyro Christian Church with Evangelist David Bycroft officiating. Inurnment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials sent to Tyro Christian Church designated for Blanket Blessings Project.
