Obituary of Darreld E. VanTeighen
Darreld E. VanTeighen, 94, of Coffeyville passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at his home.
He was born on October 9, 1924 at Parsons, KS to Joe and Ola (Snider) VanTeighen. Darreld attended school in Parsons and Independence, graduating from Independence High School.
Darreld was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army from July 1943 until receiving his honorable discharge in December 1945. After being discharged he moved to Coffeyville joining his father and brother, Howard in operating Coffeyville Implement Co. a job he continued the rest of his life.
In 1950 he married Laura Andres. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville where they raised their four children. They were later divorced.
He later married Wanetta McCutcheon. She preceded him in death.
Darreld served on the Interstate Fair and Rodeo Board for many years and worked in the Rodeo Arena for 50 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two daughters, Marcia Scott and husband, Randy of Coffeyville and Pam Soles of Liberty; one step-son, Junior McCutcheon; seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, fifteen step-great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Fairview Cemetery Veterans Memorial Patio. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
