Obituary of Carol Sue Acridge

Carol Sue Acridge, 70, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas. Carol was born on December 8, 1947 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Cecil and Ethel (Sisco) Weimer. She grew up in Coffeyville where she attended school then went to Labette County where she graduated High School. On May 29, 1965 she married Henry L. Acridge in Coffeyville, Kansas the couple made their home in Edna, Kansas where they raised their son. Carol was a homemaker who loved spending time taking care of her house and family. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Most of all she loved the time she spent surrounded by her family and friends. Surviving to honor her memory are her son, Chris Acridge and wife, Chris of rural Coffeyville, Kansas; grandchildren, Stonewall Acridge, Bethany Shinkle and husband, Mike; sister Mary Jane Bromley and husband, Willis of Coffeyville, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Henry Acridge on September 9, 2017; sister, Nina Pringle; brothers, Ron Weimer, Bill Weimer, Bob Weimer and two infant brothers. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2018, in the North Edna Cemetery in Edna, Kansas. Friends may call on Wednesday, December 5th from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas. Family will greet friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Operation Christmas Child and can be left at the funeral home or mailed in c/o David W.
