Obituary of Shirley Bell McGinnis

Shirley Bell McGinnis, 96, of Coffeyville passed away Friday, December 6, 2018 at Windsor Place. She was born on October 4, 1922 at Aurora, MO to Joe Evans and Muriel Bittner. Shirley was raised in Coffeyville by her maternal grandparents George and Emma Bittner. She attended Holy Name Grade School and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1940. In 1942 she married George McGinnis, they had two sons and were later divorced. Shirley worked in the dietary department at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center for 28 years until retiring. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing Bingo at Holy Name for many years Survivors include two sons, Larry McGinnis and wife, Carolyn of Coffeyville, and Terry McGinnis and wife, Sherry of South Coffeyville, OK; one brother, Charles Clark and wife, Brenda of Bull Head City, AZ; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; six nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Robert Clark. Following Shirley's wishes cremations has taken place and the family will have a memorial service at a later date.
