Obituary of Velma Wright
Velma Wright, 75 of Coffeyville passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
She was born on August 19, 1943 at Live Oak, Florida to William George and Bertha Mae (Sauders) Voyles. Velma spent her early years in Florida where she started school, her family later moved to Coffeyville where she completed her education.
On October 2, 1959 she married Wilbur Dale Wright in Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville where they raised their family. Velma was employed at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons for several years.
Velma enjoyed gardening, going to the casino, riding motorcycles, and traveling. But her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family.
Velma was preceded in death by her father and mother and siblings, son-in-law, Danny White and grandson, Dayton Christmore.
Survivors include her husband, Wilbur of the home; five children, Debra Ulibarri, Coffeyville, Cheryl Christmore, Portland, OR, Kevin Dale Wright and wife Irene, Coffeyville, Iris White, Adair, OK and Teresa and husband Tony Brizendine, Portland, OR; fifteen grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Wilson of the First Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
