Obituary of Kenneth W. Bigbie
Kenneth W. Bigbie "Kenny" left this life at the age of 81 to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, May 08, 2019 at his home.
He was born to Archie & Frances (Erwin) Bigbie in Mountain View, Oklahoma on December 11, 1937. He had one older sister, Charlene Greeley and her husband Hubert of whom all preceded him in death.
He attended grade school in Mountain View before his family moved to Caney, KS in 1951; then to Coffeyville in 1954, where he graduated from Field Kindley with the Class of 1956.
He went to work for Union Gas in October 1956. He worked there 41 years, retiring in 1997 as the S.E. Kansas Manager for United Cities Gas Co., formally Union Gas Co. But the most important thing in his life was his relationship and love for his Savior Jesus Christ and his family.
He married Brenda Pippin on September 27, 1957 at the First Christian Church in Coffeyville, KS. In September 2018, they celebrated 61 years of marriage. From this union, 3 children were born and raised in the admonition of the Lord, Stephanie, Stacy and Shaun.
Kenny & Brenda faithfully served at the Coffeyville Bible Church for over 27 years and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church until his health failed.
Kenny had several interests over the years including instructing Karate and his horses, but the most important thing in his life was his relationship with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and his love for his family.
Over the last 20 years, Kenny spent countless hours studying God's Word resulting in a deeper love for Christ and His Word. Kenny was always ready to share the truth of God's Word with his children, grandchildren and anyone who he came in contact with.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughters, Stephanie Schlegel and husband, Jed, Stacy Houser and husband, Mike; son, Shaun Bigbie; grandchildren, Sierra (Schlegel) Longobardo and husband, Tim, Logan Schlegel and wife, Amanda, Ashley (Houser) Collier and husband, Blake, Amber (Houser) Gibbens and husband, Brett; great grandchildren, Shea, Addison, Carson, Brynley, Hayden, Mason and Collin.
