Obituary of Ruby Joan Cole

Sedan - Ruby Joan "Okie Jo" (Foltz) Cole, age 78, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Intergris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born April 4, 1929 in Maud, Oklahoma to Joseph Jasper "Joe" and Ruby (Watson) Foltz. She attended school at Bowlegs High School in Bowlegs, Oklahoma. She later attended college at the Ada Teachers College in Ada, Oklahoma and University at Oklahoma. She married Robert Lynn Cole on October 18, 1951 in Sedan, Kansas. After their marriage, they lived in Seoul, Korea on the Clark Air Force Base in the Phillipines. The later lived in California and in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1990. She was a member of the Draper Park Christian Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Delta Theta Chi Sorority and the Best Years Club in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is survived by one daughter, Jolynn Reed of Dallas, Texas; one son, Randal Cole of Laramie, Wyoming; two grandchildren; one granddaughter-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert. Family and friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, Kansas with Reverend Penny Goldberg officiating. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Draper Park Christian Church of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. These remembrances may be left in care of the funeral home.
