Obituary of Charlotte Anne Wheeler
Charlotte Anne Wheeler, 68, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019.
Charlotte was born on March 2, 1951 in Centreville, Maryland to Charles and Gloria (Hammond) Starkey. On March 3, 1967 she married the love of her life, Gene R. Wheeler in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The couple moved around while Gene served in the military, this included being stationed overseas.
The couple settled in Coffeyville in the early 2000's after Gene retired. Charlotte earned her CNA and her CMA and worked as a nurse's assistant. She attended church at Dearing Christian Church and stayed very active in the several groups including the Classy Girls Group. She enjoyed crafting, bingo and playing the slots at the casinos. Most of all she loved the time she spent with her family and dogs.
Charlotte is survived by her loving husband, Gene Wheeler; children, Teresa Bosteder and husband, Mitch of Gooding, Idaho, Lewis Wheeler of Gooding, Idaho, Juanita Dixon of Pocatello, Idaho; grandchildren, Ashley Burns and husband, Chris, Jessica Cowen and husband KJ, Veronica Wheeler, Victoria Wheeler, Christian Dixon; great grandchildren, Shaun Burnett, Dawson Burnett, Tristen Bingham, Nikolai Burns and Autumn Cowen; sisters, Dorthey Leake of Kings George, Virginia, Marilyn Lett of Spotsylvania, Virginia; brothers, Johnny Starkey of Bowling Green, Virginia and Timmy Starkey of Colonial Beach, Virginia.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Dearing Christian Church in Dearing, Kansas. Burial will follow at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville.
Friends may sign the guest register on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas.
